Time to book your Flu Vaccination

This year we are required by the NHS to use two different flu vaccines on our patients. Patients aged 64 or under will receive one type of vaccine and patients aged 65 or over will receive another type of vaccine, which has been shown to be more effective with this age group.

Information about the different types of vaccines that we will be using can be found on the NHS Choices Website (

Due to the different vaccines which we will be using, we have arranged our clinics by age. Our patients can attend clinics at either Seven Posts or Greyholme Surgery. Please contact either surgery as soon as possible to book your appointment.

New Patient Improved Access Service for Routine and Same Day Primary Care Appointments

From 1st April 2018 GP Surgeries from Cheltenham, Bishops Cleeve and Winchcombe, listed below, are participating in a new Improved Access Service Pilot to offer additional weekday evening and weekend Primary Care appointments for patients.

Leckhampton Surgery

Seven Posts & Greyholme Surgeries

Sixways Clinic

Stoke Road Surgery

Winchcombe Medical Centre

The new service will offer ‘Routine’ and ‘Same-day’ appointments that are pre-booked in advance. Appointments will be available until 8pm Monday to Friday and from 8:30am to 12:30pm on Saturdays. It is hoped this will allow patients greater access to primary care, particularly for those who would prefer an appointment outside of normal hours

Appointments are available for all patients registered at the above Surgeries.

Please contact your registered Surgery as usual in order to book an appointment. Please note these appointments will be hosted across the pilot sites on different days.  GPs and Nurses will need your consent to access your medical notes if you choose to use the new service.

The new service is for booked appointments only and is not available for drop-ins. Please note that there is not normally telephone access to Surgeries after 6.30pm during the week and at weekends.

The Out-of-Hours service will continue to operate and patients should phone 111 if they need urgent medical attention outside of normal Surgery opening hours, including Public Holidays.

Declaration of Earnings

All GP Practices are required to declare the mean net earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. This is required in the interests of greater public accountability recognising GP pay is ultimately funded from tax paid by the public.

The average pay for GPs working in Dr Young and Partners in the last financial year was £45,099 before tax and national insurance. This is for 2 full time GPs, 4 part time GPs and 3 locum GPs (who worked in the practice for more than six months).
